Equation Staffing is currently building a pool of experienced and safety-focused Carpenters for upcoming industrial and construction projects throughout Fort McMurray and the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
We are seeking candidates with general construction carpentry experience, as well as Carpenters with specialized experience in formwork, falsework and concrete construction.

Schedule: Varies by project
Start Dates: Ongoing / Based on Project Requirements
Responsibilities: Duties will vary depending on the project and may include:
- Performing general carpentry work on industrial and construction sites.
- Measuring, cutting, shaping and assembling construction materials.
- Building, installing and repairing wood structures and components.
- Constructing and dismantling concrete forms and formwork systems.
- Assisting with falsework, shoring and temporary support structures.
- Installing framing, blocking and structural components.
- Reading and interpreting drawings, blueprints and measurements.
- Performing layout and preparing materials for installation.
- Operating hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Supporting concrete placement and construction activities.
- Inspecting completed work for quality and accuracy.
- Assisting other trades and construction crews as required.
- Following all company and site-specific safety procedures.
- Maintaining clean and organized work areas.
Qualifications:
- Previous carpentry experience in a construction, commercial or industrial environment.
- Formwork, falsework, concrete forming or structural concrete experience is considered a strong asset.
- Journeyperson Carpenter certification is considered an asset but may not be required for all projects.
- Apprentice Carpenters with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
- Experience with common carpentry hand and power tools.
- Ability to accurately measure, cut and assemble materials.
- Ability to read drawings or blueprints is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work.
- Reliable, punctual and comfortable working as part of a construction crew.
- Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work different shifts and project schedules.
- Appropriate PPE as required by the project.
Safety Tickets & Certifications:
Depending on the project or client site, workers may be required to hold one or more of the following:
- CSTS.
- CSO.
- H2S Alive.
- Fall Protection.
- Confined Space.
- WHMIS.
- Standard First Aid.
- Additional project or site-specific certifications.
Assignment Information:
Potential assignments may include:
- Short-term construction projects.
- Shutdowns and turnarounds.
- Several-week assignments.
- Three-to-six-month projects.
- Longer-term industrial and construction projects.
