About the Job
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Administrator to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time, maintaining employee payroll records, and ensuring compliance with federal and provincial payroll regulations. This role is a hybrid position, with 2–3 days per week working in the office and 2-3 days per week working from home. The work week will be Monday to Friday and 30 - 35 hours per week. This role is ideal for an individual with 1 to 2 years of payroll experience who is looking to continue developing their career in payroll and accounting.

Responsibilities
  • Process weekly, bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for salaried and hourly employees.
  • Review timesheets, attendance records, and payroll data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Calculate and process employee earnings, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
  • Administer employee benefits, vacation pay, statutory holiday pay, and payroll adjustments.
  • Prepare and reconcile payroll reports and registers.
  • Ensure compliance with CRA requirements and Alberta Employment Standards.
  • Process Record of Employment (ROE) forms and employment-related documentation.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain confidential employee payroll records and personal information.
  • Assist with month-end reconciliations, payroll-related journal entries, and year-end activities including T4 preparation.
  • Accounts Receivable collections
  • Weekly invoicing
  • Client account setup – credit checks

Qualifications
  • 1 to 2 years of payroll administration experience.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and payroll best practices.
  • Experience using payroll software such as Ceridian Dayforce, ADP, Payworks, UKG, or similar systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficiency in working with employee databases
  • Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or currently working toward certification in an asset.
  • Basic accounting and reconciliation experience.
