Senior Accountant

About the Job
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join a growing, diversified organization on a temporary basis, with the potential for a permanent opportunity. This role will support the accounting operations of multiple businesses across various industries, working closely with a small accounting team to ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, and efficient day-to-day accounting processes. The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, and comfortable managing multiple entities while contributing to month-end reporting and overall financial accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Perform account reconciliations, including bank, balance sheet, and general ledger accounts.
- Review, code, and reconcile expenses to ensure accuracy and proper documentation.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations across multiple entities.
- Assist with month-end closing activities and financial reporting.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure financial data integrity.
- Investigate discrepancies, resolve accounting issues, and recommend process improvements.
- Support day-to-day accounting operations across multiple businesses.
- Assist with expense tracking, account analysis, and other financial reporting requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the existing accounting team to ensure deadlines and reporting requirements are met.
Requirements:
- Experience in full-cycle accounting, reconciliations, and monthly financial statement preparation.
- CPA Designation preferred.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and month-end procedures.
- Experience managing intercompany transactions and working with multiple entities is an asset.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently while managing competing priorities.
